Radio Dials- An Interactive Sound & Print Installation.
This installation comprised of 27 large digitals prints off Radio Dials and ‘Radio Portraits of the people sharing their memories with me. The snippets of interviews, tuning whines, white noise or Morse code were arranged as three separate sound tracks which could only be initiated IF viewers stood in the correct position in the space at the right time. It became an interactive and social event as visitors would shift their body position to find the ‘station’. The intention was to highlight the physicality required to tune into an analogue radio rather than simply press a button.for the video click on link
A high tech company Ubisense, Cambridge kindly lent me their RTLS Research package and their assistance for this project.
