BREAKING BOUNDARIES

BREAKING BOUNDARIES

SEP 2016,San Sebastian, Spain

Breaking Boundaries’ is a multimedia sound, video, sculpture and performance based work commissioned by Donostia International Physics Centre (DIPC) in the Basque region of Spain. It opened a  prestigious science conference that bought Nobel prize-winners (and the Basque president) from around the world to share knowledge.

The work inspired by motifs, and discoveries of science and can be seen as movement, projections and soundscapes. The ‘human’ connection is amplified by contemporary dancers interacting with their body-shaped counterparts. The work was created by the UK based artists Melissa Pierce Murray and Diana Scarborough, in collaboration with DIPC, for the opening of Passion for Knowledge 2016. The project has also the collaboration of Dantzagunea, through this institution of the resident company Dantzaz, who provided the professional dancers featured in the work.
