BEAUTY IN THE ANALOGUE

Etchings and letterpress prints are inspired by the artist’s passion for the analogue process of making as well as the subject matter of radio communication and valve radios. Diana Scarborough’s early career repairing and updating radio equipment on ships and submarines has greatly influence this choice of subject matter. The letterpress and etching processes are lengthy and have historical provenance as do the radios themselves. The letterpress prints become an exploration of when text becomes pattern through a process of superposition. The fine art prints were created during the artist’s first year of her MA in Printmaking at the Cambridge School of Art,
