Artist Residency Exhibition Mar 2026
The Art of Eco-conscious Colour ‘ exhibition at the Cambridge Festival exhibition, it took inspiration from Diana Scarborough’s one-year residency ‘Tailored Pigments’. In addition to sketchbooks documenting her process of creative explorations, she included art prints, an interactive soundscape in a lab coat and a film ‘The Art of Eco-conscious Colour’. Her AIR was funded by a BBSRC grant (UKRI) as a collaboration between researchers and industry.
With a sustainable heart of growing colour from bacteria art-science outcomes were a response to the innovative bacteria-based textile dyeing processes and pigments and plant-based processes she learnt from her scientist and researcher collaborators:- Fruk Lab, (Dept. of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology), Norwich-based company Colorifix and Lifefabs Institute.
